Peter Ward, Executive Chairman
Peter Ward has a wealth of experience, having previously been the Chairman and Chief Executive of Rolls-Royce and Bentley Motor Cars and also holding the current position of Chairman for Bowman Power Ltd.
Having graduated in Business Studies & Economics, Peter began his career in 1968 with the Standard Triumph Motor Company. In 1979 he became Director, Parts Operations of Peugeot and moved to role of MD Operations for Vickers plc. His work took him to New York, as Chairman & CEO of Cunard Ltd, and then on to Hong Kong where he worked as Deputy Chairman and Chief Executive Jardine International Motor Holdings Ltd. Until 2010, Peter was Chairman of Raymarine plc, and has held a number of non-executive roles which included appointments with Harley-Davidson Inc, Ricardo plc, DLA Piper LLP and the British-American Chamber of Commerce.
Ben Guest, Non-Executive Director
Ben Guest has been an investor for the last 15 years focusing predominantly on technology companies. In 2007, Ben turned his attention onto clean technology and founded Hazel Capital in the process. Hazel Capital is an investment firm that focuses exclusively on cleantech, investing in both public and private equity markets. Ben has made several investments in private companies in this space, although quietrevolution was one of the first, when he became the first external investor in January 2007. More recently he has invested in other leading companies in the sector, such as MCT (tidal power) as well as Brightsource (solar power) as well as co-founding Nur Energie, a leading, utility-scale, solar farm developer. Ben read Mechanical Engineering at Imperial College.
Crispin Leick, Non-Executive Director
Crispin has established and is leading the Corporate Venture Capital Unit of RWE Innogy since February 2008. RWE Innogy Venture Capital invests in innovative young European companies in the emerging renewable technologies market. Providing professional support, technological expertise and a strong network, RWE Innogy Venture Capital is leveraging the strengths of the RWE group, one of the European Top 5 utilities. Crispin has over 12 years of managing experience in the energy business with a focus on portfolio management, structured transactions and business development in power, gas and renewables markets. Crispin has held various advisory board positions for RWE and REpower Systems and currently serves on the board of Topell Energy, Voith Hydro Ocean Current Technologies and quietrevolution. Crispin holds a Master degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Karlsruhe and an MBA from the GSB Chicago.
Richard Cochrane, Chief Technology Officer
Richard is an expert Environmental and Building Services Engineer specialising in low energy and energy efficient building design. A Cambridge engineering graduate with particular experience in aeronautics, Richard leads the technical innovation behind quietrevolution and has combined a number of aeronautical insights to create the design. His role as CTO is focused on design optimisation and ongoing innovations.
